1984年大学期间，以一篇教师主题的短篇漫画在RIBBON ORIGINAL出道。

1986年开始在杂志RIBBON连载漫画《樱桃小丸子》。

1999年创立杂志《富士山》。

2006年为《樱桃小丸子》电视真人版连续剧编辑第一话剧本。

2007年《樱桃小丸子》在日本《中日新闻》《东京新闻》《北陆中日新闻》《日刊县民福井》《北海道新闻》《西日本新闻》《河北新报》《中国新闻》《德岛新闻朝刊》《新泻日报》开始连载。

2011年12月31日，连载了25年的漫画版《樱桃小丸子》完结，但动画版还在连载中，到2013年已超过1，000集。

2018年因乳腺癌去世。
